Isoplot is a program designed primarily for radiogenic-isotope geochemists, but may be useful for plotting or regressing any XY data in a simple, flexible manner. Data can be entered either from the keyboard or from ASCII files produced by spread-sheet or word-processing programs, and can be plotted as a variety of symbols, including various error-symbols and polygons. Isoplot can regress data using a modification of the most-widely used two-error regression algorithm, and will calculate isochron ages directly from the regression lines.

Graphics can be viewed immediately on the screen or dumped as screen graphics to an Epson-compatible dot-matrix printer. For high-quality, hard-copy graphics, HPGL-compatible pen-plotters are supported (with the assistance of commercial programs, laser or dot-matrix printers can also be used for high-quality graphics output). In addition to the basic XY plotting and common-isochron calculation functions, the program can:

1.Calculate isochron ages for less-common decay schemes, including K-Ar, K-Ca, Lu-Hf, Re-Os, and ²³⁰Th-²³²Th-²³⁴U-²³⁸U;

2. Construct U-Pb concordia plots
